The City of Santa Clarita is encouraging community members to attend the High Speed Rail Emergency Meeting happening on Monday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at the Canyon High School Gymnasium.
The California High Speed Rail Authority Project is a high speed rail system that will connect from San Francisco to Los Angeles at speeds up to 200 miles an hour.
The project is currently on track to ravage the Sand Canyon neighborhood, Sulphur Springs Community School, Pinecrest Elementary School and Church of the Canyons.
The Santa Clarita City Council has taken a formal position in support of an East Corridor direct alignment as the desired preferred alternative, as such alignment will bypass the City of Santa Clarita.
